There are comic conventions or comic con in most of the major cities in the United States. Fans are able to dress up as their favorite character and meet other like minded people.
Sometime, the actors or writers are there to make speeches, presentation and sign autographs. Sometimes special announcements are saved until a gathering, like who is starring in what role or when a new movie is coming out. Going to a convention is a good way to get to know the fans and get a better understanding of how they feel about this genre, following are a few conventions nationwide. The first on the list and the largest is the San Diego Comic Con, which is famous world wide.
